2018 Beach Ball
March 3About this event
About this event
“We believe that everyone has the right to spend her/his final days in dignity—surrounded by compassion.”
For the first time in its fifteen year history, the Beach Ball grossed almost $70,000 to benefit patients who stay free of charge at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home! That equates to two months of operations at the Home, where hospice residents stay free of charge, one of only a dozen residences like it in the entire country!
This year’s event was sponsored in part by Eskenazi Health, Forum Credit Union, The Naked Monkey, and PNC. All time highs were set in total raised, attendance, auction proceeds, and Fund A Cause contributions! The Board of Directors, Abbie Hunt Bryce Home Committee members, and Morning Light staff celebrated with a group picture.
Honorary Chair Sue Ellspermann, the President of Ivy Teach Community College, set the tone of the evening by posing for a candid photo. Her support was a major reason that attendance increased almost 20% over the previous year to 210+!
Also in attendance was Indiana Senator Victoria Spartz. Dean Metcalf and the Tempos performed. The event was ably hosted by Grace Trahan.
