Seasons Hospice Chaplain Amaryllis Lewis leads a moment of reflection.

Symbolically an overcast September afternoon gave way to a hint of sun during 2015’s Memorial Picnic Celebration.  This annual event at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home honors those who have passed away at the Home during the previous year.  Each person’s name is inscribed on a brick and positioned in the Home’s Memorial Garden.

The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home is in its 11th year, providing free living arrangements to terminally ill residents, many of whom are homeless. However, the compassion and care residents receive often heal long standing family rifts. The Memorial Picnic brings family, friends and caregivers together to celebrate each life’s journey.

This year twenty resident lives were celebrated.  The seventy or so attendees marked each life through song and remembrance- journeys that end in peace!
