Homeless and In Need of Hospice: WISH-TV Giving Travis a Voice
The story of Travis Dalton, shared on WISH-TV by Kyla Russell, is a powerful example of what happens when our team steps into action and a community rallies around someone in need.
Morning Light is driven by one clear purpose: to ensure that people facing the end of life, from all walks of life, are treated with dignity, compassion, and support.

The story of Travis Dalton, shared on WISH-TV by Kyla Russell, is a powerful example of what happens when our team steps into action and a community rallies around someone in need. Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of Morning Light, Southeast Community Center, CHIP Coalition, and housing partners, Travis and his family found a safe apartment. Travis was able to live with his sister, receiving hospice care with peace of mind in a stable environment.
We are profoundly grateful to Kyla Russell and WISH-TV for telling his story, giving Travis a voice. Their reporting not only highlighted the challenges faced by individuals like Travis at Fountain Square, but also illustrated the tangible difference coordinated care can make.
Travis’s journey, from living in a tent during the summer heat while battling cancer, to being housed and receiving hospice care, is a testament to the strength of community and purpose-driven action. At Morning Light, we don’t just see people in need, we act. We partner, we advocate, and we make sure no one is overlooked.
Together with our partners, we continue to show what’s possible when care, compassion, and community come together.
